ONTARIO EDUCATION SYSTEM

A quick glance at the Ontario Education System

Canada primary and secondary schools controlled by the provincial education bureau, implementing the 14-year compulsory education system. In Ontario, children start school at four years of age, two-year kindergarten classes, grades 1 through 8 are elementary and junior high, and grades 9 through 12 are high school.

Most schools in Canada adopt the academic year system. The academic year is 10 months. It ranges from September to the end of June, which usually ranges from two semesters to four semesters. Mid-year holidays include one to two weeks of Christmas, New Year holidays, one-week spring vacation in March and other statutory public holidays, and in general, Saturday and Sunday do not have classes.

In addition to public schools, there are private schools to provide primary and secondary education, and all private schools are also subject to the examination and supervision of the Education Bureau. Private schools are well received by Canadian parents and students. In addition to small classes, the curriculum is more flexible than the general public schools.
